The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his re-election as governor of Ekiti State, describing the victory as historic and a strong endorsement of his leadership by the people of the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party said Oyebanji’s victory was particularly significant as he became the first incumbent governor in Ekiti’s contemporary democratic history to secure re-election.

The party said the outcome of the election reflected the confidence of Ekiti residents in the governor’s leadership style, people-oriented policies, and commitment to development.

According to the APC, the governor’s re-election serves as “a loud demonstration of the confidence of Ekiti people in Governor Oyebanji, his visionary leadership, people-centered policies, and unflinching commitment to the development and progress of the state.”

The party also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and other stakeholders for their roles in ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral process.

It praised the electorate for their orderly conduct and active participation throughout the election, describing their support as a reaffirmation of the APC’s progressive ideals and governance agenda.

“We remain exceedingly grateful for their steadfast support and endorsement of our great party, its policies and progressive ideals,” the statement said.

Also, Secretary of the Logistics and Campaign Management Committee of the APC National Campaign Council for the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election, Senator Ede Dafinone, described the outcome as historic and a strong endorsement of the governor’s leadership.

In a congratulatory message to Oyebanji, the Senator said the landmark victory reflects the deep confidence and trust the people of Ekiti have placed in Oyebanji’s leadership, performance, and vision for the continued development of the state.

Dafinone commended residents of Ekiti State for their peaceful participation in the electoral process, noting that their collective decision to return the governor to office demonstrated a clear preference for continuity, stability, and sustained progress.

He said the outcome of the election reinforces the growing support for the policies and developmental strides of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.

“Congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, on his resounding victory in the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election. This historic re-election marks the first back-to-back governorship mandate in Ekiti State’s history, a remarkable testament to the confidence and trust the people of Ekiti have placed in his leadership, performance, and vision for the state”, Dafinone wrote.

He further praised the electorate for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the election, describing the process as a reflection of democratic maturity.
