Agunechemba neutralizes 3 members of Anambra terror gang

Agunechemba Unit from FOB Aguata LGA of Anambra State on Tuesday night neutralized three members of a terror group that has caused considerable havoc in the region.

Several members of the gang who managed to escape were said to have sustained varying degrees of gunshot injuries.

Agunechemba is a security apparatus set up by the Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo duely backed by relevant laws of the State.

The Media and Publicity Secretary for Agunechemba, Comrade Nweke Nweke revealed the exploit of the group in a press statement made available to journalists on Wednesday.

“The gang had been masquerading in federal government security uniforms and had previously attacked the convoy of Chief of Staff(CoS) to Gov. Charles Soludo, resulting in casualties. Their downfall occurred during a gun duel with our operatives.

“With thorough intelligence gathering, our team, in partnership with police, zeroed in on the gang in the Isuofia-Igboukwu region, where they were robbing innocent victims. As our operatives approached, the gang attempted to flee.

“In a determined chase, Agunechemba and police units sealed off all escape routes in the Aguata Council Area. Realizing they were being pursued, the gang opened fire, but, three notorious gang members were neutralized without any casualties on the side of the Agunechemba team.

“The operation resulted in the recovery of a Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG), AK-47 rifles and other weaponry, the gang’s operational white Hilux van, along with various charms, handbags, and other incriminating items” Comrade Nweke Nweke revealed.

“Our intelligence indicates that these dangerous individuals were using a white Hilux van for a variety of criminal activities, including kidnapping, armed robbery, and the abduction of innocent civilians in Anambra South senatorial district and beyond.” Comrade Nweke revealed.

He pointed out that the Special Adviser to Gov Charles Soludo on Community Security, Prince Ken Emekayi, Hon. Engr. Sylvester Ikenna Ofodeme, Chairman of Anambra House of Assembly Committee on Internal Security, and the Head of Operations of Agunechemba, Chief Chinenye Ihenko, have all commended the operatives.

The trio stated emphatically that the dismantling of the gang represents a significant triumph for the security forces in Anambra State.
