Bauchi Mourns Passing Of Former Media Helmsman, Idris Shall

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, Speaker house of assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, and former Governor of the state, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, have, separately, expressed sadness over the passing of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Shall, former MD, Bauchi State Television Authority, BATV, who died Monday after a brief illness.

Governor Bala Mohammed, who sent in his condolences in a message through his SA on media/publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, described the deceased as a seasoned broadcaster, accomplished media administrator, and one of the finest television professionals produced by the state.

He noted that throughout his distinguished career, the late former MD demonstrated exceptional professionalism, dedication, and commitment to growth and development of the media industry.

The Governor further noted that Idris Shall rose through the ranks from reporter to news editor, director news and current affairs, ending up being the MD of BATV, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, integrity and hardwork.

“The deceased made invaluable contributions during his tenure as chairman NUJ, Bauchi State Council, where he worked tirelessly to advance journalists welfare and strenghten responsible journalism in the state,” Governor Mohammed stated.

Also, speaker Bauchi state house of assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, who sent in his condolences through his spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, noted that during his tenure as MD, BATV, the deceased worked committedly to upgrade the station through acquisition of modern equipment, regular staff training, and prompt payment of staff remuneration

While saying that the late Idris Shall raised the standard of broadcast journalism and mentored many young professionals whose impacts in the media industry are being felt, the message stated thus, “He will be remembered for his kindness, exemplary leadership, jovial disposition, and unwavering commitment to inspiring young people to pursue their ambitions”.

Similarly, in a condolence message through his digital and creative media aide, Shamsudden Lukman Abubakar, former Bauchi State Governor and APC 2027 gubernatorial candidate, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, described the deceased as a dedicated public servant, seasoned broadcaster, and consumate professional.

The message which added that the late former MD made significant contributions to the development of the media industry and government communication in the state, noted that he served diligently during M. A. Abubakar’s administration during which he demonstrated commitment, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of his duties.

They all extended their heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the management and staff of BATV, friends and associates, the NUJ Bauchi State Cou cuncil, the entire media community, and the state at large.

The late Ibrahim Idris Shall, was a graduate of Bayero University, Kano.
