Kaduna State First Lady, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani, has pledged the state’s continued partnership with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), describing the programme as a powerful complement to Governor Uba Sani’s welfare agenda for Kaduna citizens.
She made the declaration in Abuja on Monday, joining First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu and her counterparts from across Nigeria to mark three years of an initiative that has reached over 27,000 residents in the Federal Capital Territory alone — through more than 15 major programmes built around five strategic pillars.
The anniversary event revealed that RHI interventions across the FCT benefited 27,345 residents, with 4,427 people supported through economic empowerment, 3,307 children reached, 4,866 beneficiaries served under food security and agricultural programmes, 970 persons with disabilities assisted, and 550 elderly citizens supported.
At the National level, reports said the scale is even more striking. The government’s companion HoPE-CT cash transfer programme has reached over 9.2 million beneficiaries, with a target of 15 million vulnerable households, including special uplift grants of ₦50,000 to 3.6 million families.
Investigations have also shown that under the RHI Elderly Support Scheme, 250 vulnerable veterans aged 65 and above received ₦200,000 each alongside food items and medical checks, while 47 scholars received ₦1 million each and laptop computers under the RHI National Scholarship Programme.
Commending Senator Tinubu’s leadership, Hajiya Hafsat said Kaduna State would deepen its alignment with RHI’s social inclusion agenda to expand grassroots opportunities for women and young people.
“The Renewed Hope Initiative has strengthened federal empowerment programmes in ways that directly support what we are doing in Kaduna,” she said.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, speaking at the State House Conference Centre, urged girls and young women to nurture big dreams and pursue them with discipline and purpose, saying the Initiative’s impact was visible in transformed lives across the country.
Established in May 2023, the Renewed Hope Initiative was launched to complement government efforts in promoting women’s empowerment, economic inclusion, education, healthcare, and food security nationwide.
