From Celestine Ihejirika, Jalingo

Immediate past chairman of Taraba State Civil Service Commission (CSC), Chief John Mamman has said as far as Nigeria is concerned, judiciary has outlived its usefulness contrary to what it was known for.

Chief Mamman, who made the assertion during an interview with our correspondent in Jalingo on Tuesday, said the judicial system (Court) which was initially seen as last hope for the common man suddenly changed, leaving citizens in the dark and wondering what faith have for over 200 million common Nigerians, he said.

Mamman, a notable chieftain of the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba state, said he has remained in shock, devastated, and disappointed in the whole activities of Nigeria judiciary particularly on the just concluded party’s primaries across the nation.

According to him, the hope of a common man hangs in the air as Nigeria’s judicial system placed a high premium on the top few individuals in the society.

While he cited the current case of PDP’s factional groups nationwide, Chief Mamman alleged that the judicial script of a serving minister was responsible for the many crisis his party is facing at the moment, but declared, there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

He described the alleged political romance between All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as temporal, and predicted it would soon expire.

In his words, “INEC can still go ahead this year and declare Tinubu winner of the 2027 General Election so that Nigerians will experience permanent peace since the electoral umpire was not ready to allow other political parties to exist,” he stated.
