Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central) has congratulated Comrade Eyamu Oghenenyrowo Peculiar on her election as President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of University of Abuja, describing her victory as well-deserved and a reflection of the confidence reposed in her by the student body.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Dafinone said Eyamu, popularly known as “Everything Peculiar,” earned the mandate through her leadership qualities, character, and vision for the university community.

The lawmaker noted that her emergence as SUG president has brought pride and honour to her family, community, and the entire Urhobo Nation, particularly Egini in Udu Kingdom, Delta Central, and Delta State.

According to the senator, Eyamu’s achievement reflects the enduring values of the Urhobo people, which include resilience, excellence, hard work, and purposeful leadership.

Dafinone urged the newly elected student leader to approach her new responsibility with humility, courage, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to service.

He expressed optimism that her tenure would be defined by inclusiveness, accountability, constructive engagement, and impactful initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of students at the University of Abuja.

The senator also described Eyamu’s victory as a source of inspiration for young Nigerians, especially youths from Delta Central and Urhobo communities, saying her success demonstrates that dedication, competence, and integrity remain vital pathways to leadership and achievement.

He encouraged her to remain focused and seize the opportunity to build a legacy of transformational leadership that would leave a lasting impact on the student community.

Dafinone further prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and grace for the new SUG president as she begins her tenure, expressing confidence in her ability to justify the trust placed in her by the students.

“Congratulations once again, Madam President. I pray that God grants you wisdom, strength, and grace to deliver on this mandate and justify the confidence reposed in you,” the senator stated.
