Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari, has assured Nigerians that the ruling party will fulfil the promises it made during the 2023 election campaign.
Yari gave the assurance on Sunday shortly after returning from an overseas trip. He was received by a large crowd of supporters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
He was appointed Director-General of the council, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, serves as Secretary.
The former Zamfara State governor told journalists at the airport that the APC remained committed to delivering on its promises and ensuring the continued leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I want to assure Nigerians that whatever promise we made during the campaign, we shall keep to our promises,” Yari said.
He expressed confidence that President Tinubu would secure re-election in 2027, saying, “today, we have seen him as President and, by God’s grace, he shall be the President come 2027.”
Yari thanked the supporters who turned out to welcome him, describing their presence as a demonstration of their commitment to the administration and the APC.
“The crowd are here to pray for me and for the success of Mr. President,” he said.
According to him, the APC is known for keeping its word, while urging Nigerians to continue supporting the administration.
“Our party is synonymous with keeping to our words. We pray that Almighty Allah will give him [the President] the wisdom to lead this country. We assure Nigerians that we shall fulfil all our campaign promises,” Yari stated.
He also expressed hope that the APC would retain power beyond Tinubu’s second term, saying, “We pray that our party will continue to be the party to lead the country after President Tinubu’s second term.”
President Tinubu had on Saturday unveiled the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
