Independent creative agency, X3M Ideas, has donated 50 Motorola walkie-talkies to the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, to enhance the operations of the council’s security marshals.
The agency said the radios will enable the men and women who watch over the council to reach one another quickly and, therefore, respond faster to ensure a safer community.
Presenting the items to the LCDA Chairman, Moyosore Adebanjo, at the council secretariat, X3M Ideas explained that the gesture was its 2026 corporate social responsibility project aimed at lifting the communities around it, mostly in education and youth work across Lagos.
According to the Group Chief Executive Officer, Steve Babaeko, the agency treats giving back as a duty, not a photo opportunity. According to him, “Nobody can force a company to be responsible. You choose it.
“We are corporate citizens, and no government anywhere fixes everything by itself. So, every year we ask one question: where can we step in and make things a little better?
“This year the answer was security. Give the marshals the tools to talk to one another, and you make life safer for everybody in Onigbongbo. That is worth doing.”
Babaeko added that the agency had never waited for the right moment to give, having started in its first year 14 years ago with no real profit, and “that has not changed.”
Grateful to the agency for the support, Adebanjo said the radios “came at the right time.” He added: “Our marshals are only as effective as their ability to communicate and respond, and 50 reliable handsets across our teams are exactly what they needed.
“When a company chooses to invest in the safety of a community it works in, everybody benefits.”
