On the historic milestone of Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 uninterrupted years of distinguished public service in constitutional office, the Indian Diaspora across Nigeria has expressed its profound gratitude, respect, and admiration for his transformative leadership.
Speaking on behalf of the business community and the Indian community at large, Kiran M. Gosavi, President of the Federation of Indian Industry (FII) – Nigeria Chapter, paid rich tributes to Prime Minister Modi’s quarter-century journey of governance.
According to Gosavi: “October 7 marks a momentous day in modern Indian history. Over these 25 years – first as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and then as the Prime Minister of India – PM Modi Ji has redefined governance, enterprise, and national pride. We in Nigeria have learned invaluable lessons from his vision of self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat), economic resilience, and inclusive development. The Indian diaspora in Nigeria is immensely proud of his leadership, which has elevated India’s stature on the global stage.”
Mr. Gosavi emphasized that under PM Modi’s “visionary stewardship,” the global Indian Diaspora has found a renewed sense of identity, purpose, and connection to their motherland.
He stated that the Federation of Indian Industry (FII) Nigeria Chapter also recognized key leaders who have been instrumental in translating PM Modi’s foreign policy vision into meaningful global engagement. They include Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale Ji (In-Charge, Foreign Affairs Department, BJP).
“The Diaspora extends special appreciation to Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale Ji for his persistent efforts in bringing overseas Indians together. Under PM Modi’s guidance, Dr. Chauthaiwale has played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between India and its Diaspora worldwide, fostering a unified platform for non-resident Indians (NRIs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs) to actively contribute to India’s growth story,” he noted.
The FII expressed also deep gratitude to His Excellency Abhishek Singh Ji, High Commissioner of India to Nigeria, “for his leadership in executing PM Modi’s diplomatic initiatives on ground. High Commissioner Abhishek Singh has played a critical role in expanding India’s global footprint in West Africa, strengthening bilateral trade ties, enhancing cultural exchange, and supporting Indian enterprises in Nigeria.”
Gosavi noted that “as Prime Minister Modi enters his 26th year of executive leadership, the Indian business community in Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to furthering India-Nigeria trade relations, boosting mutual investments, and continuing to act as strong ambassadors of Indian values and industrial growth.”
