By Chesa Chesa

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A), Ibrahim Shekarau, has reaffirmed the group’s commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s political cause, pledging sustained support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Shekarau gave the assurance at the commissioning of the A4A National Secretariat in Abuja on Saturday, where he thanked Vice-President Kashim Shettima, APC leaders, governors, National Assembly members and other party stakeholders for supporting the establishment of the organisation’s headquarters.

He described the commissioning as a historic occasion and said the group was determined to intensify its activities in pursuit of its political objectives.

“We are determined. We are committed, and we will now hit the ground in our mission”, the former Kano State governor said while assuring members and supporters that the Board of Trustees would continue to support the organisation in implementing programmes aimed at achieving its objectives.

He also commended the group’s directors, staff and other personnel who worked behind the scenes to ensure the successful completion of the secretariat.

Shekarau particularly acknowledged Shettima for accepting to commission the facility, describing him as a leader in Northern Nigeria.

He also expressed appreciation to the APC national leadership, including the party’s national chairman and director-general, as well as the Deputy President of the Senate, governors, former governors and former National Assembly leaders who attended the event.

The A4A chairman further thanked state coordinators and delegates from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory for their participation.

He said the turnout demonstrated the commitment of the organisation’s members and supporters to its mission, adding that many more supporters were gathered outside the venue.

Shekarau urged stakeholders to sustain their support for the group as it moved from establishing its national secretariat to implementing its programmes.
