DG NYSC lauds cooperation of security agencies

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Y. D. Ahmed has lauded the existing cordial relationship between the Security Agencies and NYSC.

He made this remarks during his visits to the Commander, 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, the Commissioner of Police and the Director, Department of State Services all in Gusau, Zamfara State.

At the Headquarters, 1 Brigade, the DG NYSC was received by the Commander, Brigadier General S Ahmed, who welcomed the DG to the State and pledged to aid the National Youth Service Corps in achieving its mandate of promoting the unity of the country.

The Brigade Commander also acknowledged and praised the NYSC Director General’s commitment to the welfare of Corps Members. This according to him is why the DG is in Zamafara State to personally ensure that Corps Members deployed to the State are safe.
Receiving the Director General in his office, the Commissioner of Police, Zamafara State, Mohammed Bunu said the Police in the State is committed to complimenting the efforts of other Security Agencies in providing needed assistance to the NYSC Scheme.

In his response to the Commissioner of Police, General YD Ahmed commended the Police for ensuring that Staff and Corps Members of the scheme are given assurances of their safety.

This, the DG added was inline with his priorities since he assumed office.
At the Headquarters of the Department of State Services, the Director General met with the State Director of Security Mr. Usman Shehu who also welcomed the DG to Zamfara State and assured him that the DSS is always available to collaborate with the NYSC.

The Director General was accompanied on the visits by the Director Special Duties, Alhaji Musa Abubakar, the Director Press, Public Relations Mr. Eddy Megwa and the Director NYSC North West Area Office, Mr. Kehinde Aremu.
