The Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, has inspected the three on-going road projects in the industrial town.
He was accompanied by the Transition Committee (TC) Chairman of Nnewi-North Local Government Area, Engr. Chris Obiorah and other stakeholders from the area.
Beginning from Bank Road which was commenced few weeks ago, the commisioner also inspected the Okpuneze Junction to Nnewi Hotel and that of Isaho to Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital Permanent Site Roads.
Engr. Okoma while speaking after the inspection, expressed displeasure with the level of work done by the contractor handling the Bank Road project and assured to keep an eye on the project to ensure quality and timely delivery.
On the Okpuneze and Isaho Road, Engr. Okoma said the roads will be completed early next year and charged the contractors to speed up work.
He said the unscheduled inspection was to ensure that work was being done according to specifications.
Engr. Okoma maintained that Gov. Soludo was intentional about ending the road crisis in the state.
The TC chairman of Nnewi North LGA, Engr. Obiorah, on his part, said the quality of work is very commendable but pointed out the need for the speed to be accelerated on the right projects.
The President General(PG) of Uruagu Nnewi, Mr. Innocent Okoli, expressed satisfaction with Gov Soludo’s passion to give Anambra quality roads and appreciated him for paying attention to Nnewi.
