Food poisoning: KSCPC Collaborates With Kano Women Affairs Ministry

In its renewed fight against fake, adultrtaed and poisonous items Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) has gone into collaboration with  the State Ministry of Women Affairs with a particular target to fight food poisoning.


Speaking during a courtesy call to the Ministry of Women Affairs, the newly appointed Managing Director of  the Council, General Idris Bello Danbazau (Rtd), underscored the fact that there is a nagging need for agressive enlightenment, to sensitize women on the dangers inherent in patronizing adultrated and fake consumables.


He was received by made the the Commissioner of Women Affairs, Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad Umar in her office.

He said the visit was aimed at seeking for collaboration between the Council and the ministry towards carrying out the activities of the agency.


General Danbazau, however,  lamented that, “there are many unsrupulous persons that are in the culture of cheating in their trades by adulterating food stuff and selling in the markets.”


He then solicited for the Ministry’s support to enable the Council  succeed.


In her response,  Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad  expressed happiness over the visit and enjoined the Managing Director to look into the problem of adulterated palm oil by some of its producers and sellers which is dangerous to people’s lives.


She added that unprecedented corruption is going on in Palm oil business which has remained hazardous to the health of Kano residents.


She, however, assured the KSCPC boss of the Ministry’s full support in order to achieve the set objectives and save lives.
