NYSC Corps member delivers a baby in Kaiama

Corps member Yanusa Ranatu (By 21B/ 1675) from Kwara state shortly after concluding her registration at the Orientatiin camp came under labour and was rushed to the  Bayelsa State Referral Hospital, Kaiama where she was delivered of a baby boy.                    

The Bayelsa State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Ojugo Elizabeth Iyowuna,  reportedly led a delegation of key Camp officials to visit her at the hospital.Mrs. Iyowuna during the visit, presented items needed by both mother and baby.                                                                               

The elated prospective corps member commended the NYSC for their quick intervention in coming to her aid. Ranatu also thanked the State Coordinator for the gifts saying, “the NYSC scheme is truly a caring institution”.                           

The State Coordinator was full of praises to God for the safe delivery. She also commended the Corps Dr. Mbanusi Chiebonam Clara (BY/21A/2538) and other Nurses who took delivery of the baby.                           

Both mother and baby are reportedly in good health, according to a statement by the NYSC management.
