The Ministry Of Niger Delta Development has said that the 6th National Council on Niger Delta which was scheduled for March 4th to 7th 2024, has been postponed.
A statement by the Director Press Ahmadu Chindaya on Sunday in Abuja said that the event which was earlier planned to take place in Asaba, Delta State has been shifted and that a new date will be picked.
The statement said that a new date will be communicated, while regretting all inconveniences the postponement would have caused the attendees.
The statement reads in parts;
“The Management of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development (MNDD),wishes to inform the general public that the 6th National Council on Niger Delta slated for 4th-7th March 2024, in Asaba, Delta State, has been postponed.
“A new date will be communicated. All inconveniences are highly regretted, please,”.
It could be recalled that participants were already gearing up for the 6th National Council on Niger Delta meeting to chart a way forward for the oil rich Niger Delta region before the pronouncement.
