By Daniel Tyokua

President Bola Tinubu said the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has been dragging him from sleep for results.

He said the Minister’s resilience, patience and unwavering support for his administration made realisation of projects in Abuja possible.

Tinubu disclosed this while inaugurating the Wuye inter-change, linking Wuse and Wuye Districts as one of the projects to commemorate Tinubu’s one year in office, the Federal Capital City (FCC) on Thursday.

He said,, “Our determination to succeed and extend happiness is on the teaming population, bring about prosperity and value of immense proportions to our people.

“Your resilience, patience and unwavering support have been instrumental in making this moment possible.

“Nyesom, honourable Minister, if they say you drag me from sleep, most of the time this is for results.

“Once again, I commend the entire team of FCT. Whatever anybody may say, it should be that Nigeria definitely make progress and the prosperity, the hope, the achievement is in our hands.

“We are investing in essential services such as water supply, electricity and road network that lay the groundwork for economic growth and prosperity, to share progress and improvement in the quality of life for all residents of Abuja Capital Territory” said Tinubu.

In his remarks, the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike commended the president for supporting FCT Administration to complete the Wuye inter-change.

Wike explained that the bridge was awarded in 2009 at the cost of N34 billion naira, but before the coming of Tinubu’s administration in May 29, it was revised to N74 billion.

“This job was awarded 2009, about 15 years thereabout at the cost of N34 billion. But before you came in, in May 29,it was revised to 74 billion. So you can imagine for 15 years we were struggling just to construct one interchange. You can imagine the hardship the people here had face.

“The business activities, of course will crumble. But to the Glory of God and with your determination, you have said that your mission is to bring back hope that has been lost. So people of this area will always appreciate you and thank you for this interchange”
