The National Executive Committee(NEC) of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide- Youth Wing, led by Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, has commended the genuine commitments of the South East Governors’ Forum (SEGOF) towards giving a befitting burial to the late President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, whom the organisation described as a great icon, legend and hero of the Igbo race.
In a press statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide (Youth wing), Mazi Chika Art Adiele, made available to The AUTHORITY Newspaper, the Youth wing expressed joy that those selected as members of the national burial committee are men of proven integrity.
The statement reads, “We are indeed hopeful that the National Burial Committee, which has names of very respected eminent Igbo sons and daughters, will work harmoniously with the South East Governors, ably led by the People’s Governor, His Excellency Distinguished Sen. Hope Odidika Uzodinma CON, the Iwuanyanwu Family and other relevant Stakeholders, both at home and in diaspora, in order to ensure that we give our dear departed Leader a National burial.
“Recall that Chief Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, was a multi dimensional Elder Statesman and an extraordinary Humanist, who in his lifetime touched many lives in unprecedented and diverse ways, especially the YOUTH.
“AHAEJIAGAMBA NDIGBO, bestrode our landscape like a Colossus and brought his finesse and managerial capacity to bear on his short, but most eventful and promising tenure as President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.”
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth wing lamented that the vacuum created in the leadership of the Igbo race by the exit of Chief Iwuanyanwu will be too hard to fill.
The organisation, however, expressed happiness that he lived fulfilled and accomplished life before his departure from this world.
The Ohanaeze Youth wing disclosed that they are working with some other Igbo youths and stakeholders to organise a one day youth event in commemoration of the legacies of the late Chief Iwuanyanwu, the Ohanaeze President General.
The Ohanaeze Youth wing expressed their unflinching support to government of the federation led by President Bola Tinubu and corporate existence of Nigeria as one nation.
Their press statement further stated,” While we Congratulate members of the National Burial Committee, we reaffirm our resolve in Solidarity and Support to the sincere efforts of the Federal Government for a Stable and Prosperous Nation that shall be the Pride of the black man.”
