****Procures 32 phantom heads for Dentistry Faculty,names complex after Dr.T.A.B.Sanusi

The Vice Chancellor of David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, Uburu, Ebonyi state,Prof. Jesse Uneke has called on Nigerians to invest more on medical education instead of stopping medical personnels from traveling abroad for greener pastures, stating that it is imperative in order to meet up with the current realities on ground.
He also announced the procurement of 32 Phantom heads for Dentistry Faculty which was named after Dr.T.A.B.Sanusi for his outstanding roles in Dentistry education in Nigeria.
The Vice Chancellor of David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences,Prof. Jesse Uneke, disclosed this in key note speech during Dentistry stakeholders meeting with the International Institute for Dental and Craniofacial Research, David Umahi Federal University of Health sciences, Uburu, Ebonyi State in collaboration with Nigeria Dental Association.
Speaking on the theme, `Sustenance strategies for Undergraduate Dental Education in Nigeria: A redefinition call,”the Vice Chancellor,Prof.Jesse Uneke underscores the importance of establishing more medical institutions in Nigeria in order to meet up with the current realities and high demand for medical personnels across the glob, because it will add more value to our economy and strengthen foreign partnership and Collaboration in the health system of this country.
He expressed excitement while welcoming critical stakeholders from Nigeria Dental Association, stating that the institution is already working to make Dentistry a faculty and also informed the association that over 32 Phantom heads, and other dental equipments have been procured in order to meet globally acceptable standard in Dentistry profession.
The Vice Chancellor urged them to use DUFUHS as a meeting point for Dentistry Association in Nigeria, adding that approval has been received for the construction of Dental Complex.He also used the opportunity to name the complex after Dr.T.A.B.Sanusi for his unique contributions and support for Dentistry profession in the entire school and Nigeria as a whole.
In their separate remarks,the President of Nigerian Dental Association ,Dr.Adeyemi Tope Emmanuel; the Chairman, Association of Nigerian Dental Deans,Prof.Osawe Felix Omoregie, among others, all applauded the innovative and transformative acumen of Prof.Uneke in piloting the affairs of the institution.The expressed satisfaction and surprised over the number modern medical facilities procured for Dentistry Faculty, pledging to give adequate support to make the faculty exceptional.
On her part,the Dean of the faculty,Prof.Nkeiru Folaranmi appreciated the team for coming to brainstorm on how to move Dentistry forward in Nigeria and expressed optimism that Nigeria will soon become a Dentistry destination for tourism.She lauded the immense efforts of the Vice Chancellor in giving Dentistry a special attention.
The Dentistry stakeholders meeting featured; sight inspection, Symposium 1 and 2 .Prof Morenike O.Folayan of Obafemi Awolowo University spoke on the topic,Dental Training and Dental Workforce: Implications for National Development and Growth, while Prof.Osawe Felix Omoregie harps on
Challenges of Dental Education.
