The Senate Committee on Nigerian Army, led by Senator Abdul’aziz Yar’adua, representing Katsina Central recognizes the bravery, patriotism, and selflessness of military personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty, even as he commends serving officers and soldiers for maintaining peace and ensuring the nation’s security and safety from internal and external aggression. He expressed deep humility and admiration for the sacrifices of the Armed Forces, highlighting their unwavering commitment to national unity and security.

The day’s events included an interdenominational church service at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, attended by dignitaries such as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

In a speech, Senate President Godswill Akpabio called on Nigerians to honor the sacrifices of fallen heroes by fostering unity, advancing peace, and committing to nation-building. He emphasized the need to support the families of fallen heroes and strengthen welfare programs for veterans.

As the nation remembers its fallen heroes, it also acknowledges the bravery and dedication of its serving military personnel, who continue to uphold the country’s territorial integrity and ensure citizens’ peace and safety.
