NYC Lauds APC National Chairman for Renewed Hope Scale-Up GrantLaunch

The National Youth Congress (NYC), has commended the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda for launching the Renewed Hope Scale-Up for youth empowerment and entrepreneurship development in Plateau State.

The initiative which is designed for adults residing in Plateau State within the age of 18-45 years provides a scale up grant of 1 million naira, 500,000 thousand naira, 250,000 thousand naira and start-up packs for different categories of applicants as well as mentorship, access to networks, markets and cooperatives.

The NYC, Nigeria’s largest organic youth movement, in a statement signed by its President, Engr. Jethro Annum, and made available to Journalists in Abuja, expressed optimism in the launch and urged other stakeholders regardless of whether they are elected officials or government appointees to take a queue from Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda for accelerated youth empowerment.

The Congress equally expressed readiness to partner with Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) “to extend this program to the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) so that more young people can benefit from this opportunity, thereby strengthening the spirit of enterprise and productivity among Nigeria’s vibrant youth population”.

“This forward-thinking program, designed to provide financial support and mentorship to young entrepreneurs, represents a major step in advancing youth inclusion, job creation, and economic participation. It is indeed a welcome development, aligning perfectly with the NYC President’s vision which is centered on job creation, access to finance, and enterprise development for young people across Nigeria.

“The NYC recognizes this initiative as a clear demonstration of Prof. Nentawe’s youth-centered leadership and a clear reflection of his unwavering commitment to bridging the generational gap in governance and economic empowerment. His effort in creating platforms for young innovators to access funding, training, and mentorship is a model worthy of emulation nationwide.

“We, therefore, call on other political parties, the private sector and leaders across the country to emulate this example by establishing similar programs aimed at bridging the financing gap faced by millions of young Nigerians seeking to contribute meaningfully to national development and job creation”

While reiterating its commitment to “support every initiative that empowers the youth, fosters innovation, and drives sustainable national growth”, the NYC President through the release, expressed
“gratitude to the youth-friendly National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who continues to stand as a bridge between the old and the young, demonstrating that true leadership is about creating opportunities for others to rise.”

The NYC has consistently pursued and identified with pragmatic initiatives aimed at youth empowerment with the aim of tackling the twin challenges of youth unemployment and underemployment through dedicated partnerships.
