Nigerian Army’s top brass gathered for the TRADOC Conference 2026, with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, emphasizing the need for realistic training to boost operational effectiveness.
Army Spokesperson, Col. Appolonia Anele said the conference has as theme “Enhancing Nigerian Army Operational Outcomes Through Effective Training and Doctrine Implementation,”
He stressed that doctrine should drive training, planning, and operations to tackle evolving security threats.
The conference aimed to harmonize training, doctrine, and operational concepts, focusing on Exercise MUGUN BUGU, IED threats, EOD procedures, and simulator training.
Lieutenant General Shaibu urged participants to link discussions to real operational experiences, strengthening the Army’s capacity to counter terrorism and insurgency.
He reaffirmed commitment to strengthening the Army’s fighting power, welfare, and administration, acknowledging personnel sacrifices in safeguarding national security.
The conference set the tone for the Nigerian Army’s 2026 training activities, with a focus on doctrine-driven, realistic, and mission-focused training.
