By Augustine Aminu

Business analytics strategist Gikunda Lynnet Gakii has been awarded the Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Digital and Educational Technology (CIDET), recognising her outstanding contributions to digital transformation, strategic analytics, and capacity development across Africa and the diaspora.

The announcement was made during the institute’s 2023 Annual Leadership and Innovation Ceremony, where Lynnet was celebrated alongside other distinguished professionals shaping Africa’s digital landscape. The fellowship is awarded to individuals who demonstrate exceptional expertise, industry impact, and commitment to advancing digital knowledge systems.

Lynnet’s recognition follows years of high-impact work in predictive modelling, data visualisation, and public-sector analytics. Through her role at Workplace Stars Africa, she has led multi-country analytics teams and advised government bodies on reform strategies, performance benchmarking frameworks, and workforce forecasting tools.

Her academic contributions also played a significant role in her selection. As a volunteer faculty member at the Business Process Management Institute, she has taught courses in business analytics, MIS, and strategic process design. She has also authored peer-reviewed articles on data-driven unemployment reduction, reskilling models, and service-sector forecasting.

Speaking after the announcement, institute officials described Lynnet as a “trailblazer advancing data-centric decision-making in Africa’s digital transformation discourse.” They commended her for bridging the gap between academic research and practical implementation, particularly in labour-market diagnostics and reform modelling.

Lynnet expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting that her commitment to digital transformation is driven by a belief in inclusive development and equitable access to opportunities. She emphasised the importance of building analytical capacity within African institutions to accelerate economic resilience and innovation.

The fellowship marks another major milestone in her career, adding to her growing influence as a leading voice in analytics, workforce development, and public-sector optimisation.
