The recently concluded 2025/2026 Uratta ancient community in Owerri North LGA of Imo State Youth unity football cup competition among the constituted villages as executed under the leadership of Comrade Valentine Osuji, the National President, Uratta Development Union (UDU) Youth wing has received tremendous commendations by all the community’s critical stakeholders and even beyond.
Recall that the historical Unity Cup competition stands as the first ever successfully organized clan-wide Uratta youth football tournament for the past twenty (20) years ago.
Thus, the competition for the first time in recent years brought together youths from the various villages of Uratta into a spirit of unity, love, sportsmanship, and peaceful engagements.
It’s then not surprised that the tournament has been widely applauded by community leaders and stakeholders within and outside the environ as a symbol of renewed cooperation, love, collective progress and unity of purpose among the youths of the ancient clan.
Speaking on the success of the competition, the Uratta National Youth Executives through the National President expressed optimism and commitment towards sustaining the initiative, noting that preparations and expectations are already high for an even better and more impactful edition of the Unity Cup within the 2026/2027 season.
It’s pertinent to remember that, Comrade Valentine Osuji led National Youth President of Uratta was officially inaugurated and sworn in on December 24, 2024, after a duly conducted youth leadership process within the revered community.
Since assuming office, the Uratta National Youth Executives have recorded notable institutional progress, including the successful opening of an official association bank account for the Uratta Development Union (UDU) Youth Wing, aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, probity and proper financial management.
In the area of security, the youth leadership, in collaboration with and the support of the National President General of the Uratta Development Union, Engr. (Chief) Stanley Ukaga, has actively advanced initiatives to strengthen the Uratta Central Security Network, a project currently underway to enhance safety across the various towns of Uratta.
Obviously, it has become certain that through continuous engagement and coordination with the leadership of the youths across the clan, Uratta National Youth Executives have remain committed to promoting unity, peace, and sustainable development within the community.
However, it’s important to state that Comrade Valentine Chidiebube Osuji is a youth leader with vision and focus.
Osuji as a community organizer, is presently serving as the National Youth President of Uratta, and leading the Uratta National Youth Executives with the mandate of ensure sustainable unity, security, youth empowerment, and institutional development of the ancient but famous clan.
