The Minister of Regional Development, Abubakar Momoh, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to unite and rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the party’s presidential primary scheduled for tomorrow.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah, the minister urged party faithfuls across the country to embrace reconciliation following the conclusion of the APC primaries for governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly positions.
Momoh congratulated candidates who emerged victorious in the various contests and commended those who participated but lost for their commitment to the democratic process and the growth of the party.
According to him, the end of the primaries signals the beginning of a more crucial phase of strengthening party unity and preparing the APC for future electoral victories.
“The primaries have come and gone. As a great political family, this is the time to close ranks, extend hands of fellowship, and work together in the collective interest of our party. The APC has always emerged stronger whenever we place unity above personal interests,” he stated.
The minister called on party leaders, elected officials, candidates, youth and women groups, supporters and grassroots mobilisers nationwide to focus on consolidating the achievements recorded under the APC-led administration.
He described President Tinubu’s leadership as one driven by reforms, national development and long-term economic transformation, adding that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda was laying a solid foundation for future generations.
As the APC prepares for its presidential primary, Momoh appealed to delegates and members to participate actively and affirm Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate.
“Tomorrow presents another important moment in the history of our great party. I encourage all delegates and party faithfuls across the country to participate actively and demonstrate their confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by giving him a resounding affirmation as our party’s presidential candidate,” he said.
The minister expressed optimism that the APC would emerge from the exercise stronger and more united, while also urging members to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly throughout the process.
