An Enugu-born business mogul and Igwe-elect of Amankanu Ohofia Autonomous Community in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, High Chief Shadrach Ekenedilichukwu Ekpete, has congratulated Senator Osita Ngwu on his victory at the APC primaries held last weekend.

Chief Ekpete, speaking on behalf of his family, cabinet and community, also congratulated Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, FNSE, on the reaffirmation of his candidacy by APC members in Greater Awgu as the party’s flag bearer for the Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency.

He further extended his felicitations to Hon. Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, who was endorsed for a second term as Chairman of Aninri Local Government Council, as well as other APC candidates contesting elective positions in the 2027 general elections.

Addressing journalists in Enugu, the traditional ruler-designate, who bears the title “Onodugo 1 of Ohofia Udumeze Ancient Kingdom,” said his support for APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections was informed by what he described as the party’s strong blend of technocrats and experienced politicians steering a new political direction in Enugu State.

According to him, the development-oriented approach of the party has started yielding positive results within a short period.

His words: “We are witnessing a new era in Enugu state politics with a harmonised interest between the State Governor,Dr Peter Mbah and the Federal Lawmakers in the ultimate goal of advancing the cause of development of the state.

“You must have observed that the APC in Enugu state under the leadership of Governor Peter Mbah,in the past one year have worked assiduously in harmonising the various political interests of our stakeholders and connecting the state to the mainstream of Nigeria politics.

Enugu state is no longer in the opposition party’. “With the unity, dedication, committment and sincerity of purpose on the part of our political leaders, we are expecting seamless results in Enugu state, most especially in Enugu West Senatorial district.

“Personally, I am very happy with the achievements of Senator Osita Ngwu.Even though a first time, He was able to clinch the position as a chief whip of the National assembly. He did Enugu state proud while on it.

“Back home, Senator Osita Ngwu fettered Enugu West district with his Constituency projects. From Aninri to Awgu,Ezeagu,Oji River and Udi Council areas, his foot prints are there. His educational empowerment and Scholarship programmes for our Youths are second to none.

“Senator Ngwu is doing us proud. I will support him in all ramifications to go back to the Senate in 2027”, Ekpete stated.

The businessman also commended Hon. Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu, FNSE, representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, for what he described as his contributions to nation-building and delivery of democratic dividends in Greater Awgu, particularly through empowerment and educational programmes.

Chief Ekpete further stated that the APC administration in Enugu State under Governor Peter Mbah had stabilised the political landscape through collaboration with state lawmakers and the 17 local government chairmen.

He also praised the party leadership for adopting direct primaries, which he said demonstrated the popularity of the lawmakers at the grassroots level.

The community leader equally applauded the developmental projects initiated in Aninri Local Government Area by Hon. Ugochukwu Nwanjoku within the past two years.

According to him, rural electrification projects executed across several communities, construction of rural roads to ease access to farmlands, as well as security and empowerment initiatives undertaken by the council administration, were sufficient reasons for the chairman to continue in office.
