The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa has congratulated the newly elected NBA President, Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, (SAN)
Barr Ezeokenwa in a statement described as historic.the emergence of Mrs Badejo-Okusanya as the first female elected President of the Nigerian Bar Association and the 33rd President of the Association.
APGA National Chairman said her victory is a landmark achievement not only for the legal profession, but also for ”our democratic journey, and it further affirms the growing confidence in the competence, integrity and leadership capacity of Nigerian women”.
“At APGA, we remain proud to celebrate the success of accomplished women across all sectors, because inclusive leadership is at the heart of what we believe in.
“Her victory resonates with the theme of our recent National Women Summit, “Advancing Women’s Inclusion in Politics and Governance,” a nonpartisan gathering of women leaders and stakeholders that resolved to push for electoral reforms, voluntary party quotas, a national mentorship network, and better data on women’s political participation. It is a practical demonstration that women continue to break barriers and excel when given equal opportunities.” Barr Ezeokenwa said
He wished the new NBA President a successful and impactful tenure, one in which her wealth of experience, professional excellence and commitment to justice continue to strengthen the Nigerian Bar Association and deepen the rule of law, serving as an inspiration to women and girls across Nigeria and beyond.
