President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday met with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in what is seen as part of ongoing consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held behind closed doors, followed the National Economic Council (NEC) session presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The agenda of the meeting between the President and the governors was not immediately disclosed.
The engagement comes days after the APC unveiled its presidential campaign council for the 2027 election, signalling an early effort by the ruling party to strengthen its electoral machinery.
The party appointed former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General of the campaign council, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma was named Secretary.
The APC has also announced plans to reopen its electronic membership registration exercise nationwide from Monday, August 31.
