Major stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, drawn from Ushongo and Kwande local government areas of Benue State have solicited the support of their counterparts from Sankera for the 2023 Benue governorship seat.
Kwande/ Usuonho is a political Bloc also jostling for the Governorship position in 2023.
The AUTHORITY gathered that they met at the Katsina-Ala residence of Senator Gabriel Suswam.
Elder Atsaga Anemba and Professor Nicholas Ada, chairman and Secretary, spoke for the delegation.
They listed long-standing political and cultural affinities as well as mutual interests as compelling reasons for soliciting the support of the people of Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo local government Areas.
The spokesmen paid tribute to prominent members of the party and others who lost their lives in the protracted insecurity in the area, and commended the resilience of the people which has contributed to the return of peace.
They pledged that if the Sankera people support Kwande for the governorship seat, it will be reciprocated appropriately.
Those who spoke for the respective local government areas in Sankera were Ambassador Chive Kaave, Katsina-Ala, Peter Maashin, Ukum, and Alaigyu Imbautsa, Logo.
Other speakers were Alfred Iorpav for Party Chairmen, Terseer Agber for council chairmen, Commissioner for Industries and Cooperatives, Merga Kachina, for political appointees, while State Organizing Secretary, Moses Audu, spoke for the PDP State Secretariat.
They commended the Kwande delegation for taking the right step by visiting Sankera first in acknowledgement of their long-standing ties with the people of the area.
The spokesmen said it was in the mutual interest of Sankera and Kwande to support each other for political positions in 2023.
