From Blessing Ibunge, Port Harcourt

The Chairman of the Rivers State Civil Society Organisations, Enefaa Georgewill has eulogized Mr Eboka Friday, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, for the recent peace and security experienced in the state.

Georgewill noted that the state has witnessed significant increase in security of lives and property since the deployment of CP Eboka.

The Human Rights group noted the achievements of the command under the leadership of Eboka, during their visit to the Commissioner of Police yesterday in Port Harcourt.

However, Georgewill thanked the CP for the release of Mr Basoene Wariboko who was allegedly accused and detained for two months for kidnapping of a Chief from Andoni in Rivers.

He pledged that the organisation would support the command in fighting crime in the state.

Georgewill appealed to the CP to investigate the reoccurring of harvesting human parts which was allegedly reported by victims through video which went viral on social media in the state.

He urged the CP to send his tactical team to trace the dots in some mentioned areas in the state to curb the crime.

In his response, Mr Eboka Friday, the Commissioner of Police in Rivers, stated that crime was high in the state before his resumption of duty, saying that through information given by Rivers people, the command was able to track some criminals and brought them to book.

Friday stated that the Command had made efforts to investigate one of the mentioned areas and promised to continue investigation as to ascertain the truth from the on going rumour of human parts activities in the mentioned areas.
