Anambra guber: PDP locks down Awka

… Obi, Ikpeazu, Okowa, Makinde, BoT members rally for Ozigbo

The Alex Ekwueme square in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Tuesday witnessed an unprecedented crowd as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held her mother of all rallies.

People started trooping into the venue of the rally as early as 9.00am to be part of the epoch making event.

The Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shuabu, PDP BoT members, National Assembly members and other eminent personalities including former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State graced the occasion.

In her welcome address, the chairman of Valentine Ozigbo Campaign Council, Sen. Iyom Ekwunife, said that PDP has done her home work ahead of the November 6 governorship election.

She expressed optimism that Mr Valentine Ozigbo, the PDP candidate will emerge victorious on Saturday.

The deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shuabu in his speech urged Ndi-Anambra to vote for youthfulness by voting for the PDP candidate.

He said that fate of the state cannot be left in hands of retirees who needed the office of the governor as gratuity.

Also addressing the mammoth crowd, an Awka High Chief, and a member of BoT of PDP, Sen. Ben Ndi-Obi, pleaded with Anambra people to maintain the momentum of the governorship debate that held on Monday by voting for the PDP’s Ozigbo on Saturday.

The Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde described that the Anambra State governorship election is not a battle between the good or evil but a battle between the best material and others.

He urged the good people of Anambra State to come together and say never again will they vote for wrong persons on the altar of emotions and sentiments.

Also, Sen Ifeanyi Okowa, the Delta State governor in his comments noted that PDP is set to take over Nigeria and that the takeover journey will commence with Anambra State.

He passionately appealed for unity among the party hierarchy and that everyone in the state should join Valentine Ozigbo in his bid to rebuild Anambra State.

The Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu said that Anambra people with her large volume of wise people should not continue to occupy the back quarters of underdevelopment.

He pointed out that the thirteenth PDP governors are hundred percent in support of Mr Valentine Ozigbo noting that the individuals who have the mandate of the presidency to take over Anambra State have failed.

Gov Ikpeazu described the PDP candidate, Ozigbo as a mature personality who will work for the betterment of Anambra State.

The former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi in his comments recalled what he described as “the five star governance” he gave the state and noted that Valentine Ozigbo would do more.

He urged Ndi-Anambra to troop out in their good numbers on Saturday and vote for the PDP candidate who according to him is the best man to take the state to her promised land.

The PDP candidate in the November 6 governorship election, Mr Valentine Ozigbo at the occasion presented his Ka Anambra Chawapu project to the mammoth crowd that gathered for the rally.

He reassured Ndi-Anambra of better days ahead if they give him their mandate on Saturday.

Groups from within and outside Nigeria gave their support to Ozigbo who was presented with the symbolic victory PDP flag at the rally
