AIG Zone Preaches Community Policing

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), in charge of Zone 1, Sadiq W. Bello has described community policing as the best strategy to combat crime in the society.

AIG Sadiq stated this while on a familiarization visit to the Bompai Headquarters of Kano state Police Command.

The visit was in continuation of his Familiarization Tour across the State Police Commands in Zone 1, headquartered in Kano.

The AIG was received by Kano Police Command’s Management Team led by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Habu A. Sani.

During an interactive session with all the officers, AIG Sadiq noted that, “community policing is the only way out of security threats,” adding that based on the provisions of Section 4 of the Police Act and Regulations on the functions of the Police, men and officers of the Force are mandated to respect human rights and the Rule of Law.

He commended CP Habu A. Sani, for the numerous achievements recorded since his deployment to Kano State, thumbing him up a
for tackling insecurity in the State.

In his remarks, CP Habu A. Sani promised to be committed towards fighting all criminal activities in the State using all available tools at the Command ‘s disposal.

According to him, “currently, Kano is with very low crime rate. We have achieved a serene, stable and peaceful security atmosphere that has been enthroned and enjoyed in Kano, the strategy in place which is achieving tremendous results will be sustained in partnership with sister security agencies and other stakeholders.”

The AUTHORITY reports that the meeting was attended by all the 11 Area Commanders, all Tactical Commanders, HODs, DPOs, Inspectors and Members of the Rank and File.
