Kyari: I’ve lost a friend of 40 years – Fani-Kayode, Ibori, Dino, Keyamo, others, speak

Nigerians have gone into mourning over the death of former Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, praying to God to grant him rest in his kingdom, while admonishing humanity to learn the lesson of the mortality of life.

They included former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who bemoaned the loss of a friend of 40 years, with whom he worked at his father’s chambers, former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori and Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo.

Using their individual accounts on Twitter, they all responded to the announcement made by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina on the death of the once powerful aide of the President, wishing him eternal rest.

Here are their reactions:

We remained close throughout right up until the end even though we disagreed politically. Abba was a good man: a man of honor & a loyal friend. May his soul rest in peace.’

When I chatted with him exactly on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, he assured me his health was fine and that he would faithfully take the treatments. But God always knows best. Sincere condolences to the Kyari family and the Government of Nigeria. Adieu Mallam Abba Kyari. …

Indeed, death is the biggest reminder of all reminders about how fickle this life is. What a reminder this particular one is. May Allah forgive Abba Kyari’s shortcomings and give his family and allies the fortitude to bear this loss. Sigh!

Before you celebrate Abba kyari’s dead, remember neither you nor your father or any of your family members are immortal

Death is inevitable and everyone dies eventually
