2020 Earth Day: Time to address damages to the environment – NBMA DG

As the 2020 world earth day is being commemorated, the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, National Biosafety Management Agency, Dr Rufus Ebegba has made a call for concerted action to change lives and the world for the better.

According to Ebegba, “Climate change represents one of the biggest challenges to the future of humanity and the life-support systems that make our world habitable.

“The novel COVID19 PANDEMIC has thought us that there is an urgent need to take climate action very seriously as the pandemic has reminded us that humans and the planet are very vulnerable. This is the time for all to address every unchecked damages to our environment.

He said further, “The theme for this year’s world earth day “Climate action”, speaks volumes and it beholds on us all to take decisive measures that will make the earth a better place for us and the future generation.

“Man’s endeavors in science and technology should be explored in our efforts to address climate change for a better world,” the DG added.
