COVID-19: FG Donates Food Items To Vulnerable Persons In Kogi

The Kogi state Government on Friday took delivery of some relief materials for vulnerable groups donated by the Federal Government.

Delivering the relief materials, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajia Sadiya Umar Faruq said Government acknowledged the hardships in the country resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, hence the need to assist with the palliative measures.

The Minister who was represented by an Official of the Ministry, Mrs Ojochenemi Nadia Muhammed, pointed out that the food items would be given to designated beneficiaries.

The items according to the Minister include three trucks of rice and one truck of vegetable oil.

Receiving the relief materials on behalf of the Kogi State Government, the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja noted that the materials would get to the needy as Government had a database of the vulnerable persons.

He appreciated the Federal Government for the gesture which he noted would go a long way to alleviate the suffering of the people even when no case had been recorded in Kogi State.
