Former CP, Abubakar Tsav dies at 82

A social critic and retired Commissioner of Police who served in Lagos, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav is dead.

Tsav died on Monday at the Federal Medical Centre Makurdi, after a brief illness. He was eighty two years old.

Before his death, the former Police Commissioner also served as Commissioner for Benue state at the Public Complaints Commission (PCC).

He would be buried according to Islamic rights in the Makurdi cemetery.

Third son of the deceased Hassan Abubakar Tsav, who spoke with newsmen at the Central Mosques Makurdi, said his father was taken to the hospital Monday morning and died few hours later.

He said it was the wish of his father that anytime he died, he should be buried according to Islamic rights at the Makurdi cemetery.

According to him, he was glad that his father, had served the country and contributed a lot to the development, not only of Benue, Nigeria as a whole.

He said his father was Anti corruption crusader, and he will be missed by the family, Benue and Nigeria.

Meanwhile Senator representing Benue North East Sen. Gabriel Suswam has described late Tsav as a courageous and determined Police Officer who stood on the path of truth.

He said he received the news of the death of Retired Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav with great shock.

The Benue state Governor however thanked God for the life of Tsav and said he was a fulfilled gentleman.

He regreted that the elder stateman has passed on to be with his ancestors at a time his statemanly counsel was most needed.
