*Say Leaked Video Mischievous
A member of the security committee set up by the Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has declared that former former Inspector General Of Police (IGP) and Chairman Of the Committee Mohammed Abubakar never collected N11Million from any Emir to compromise the report of the Committee as alleged in an audio in circulation.
This is as he described the circulation of the purported leaked audio connected to the former Inspector General Of Police as an act of mischief,laughable and childish.
The purported leaked audio had alleged that the former former IGP was alleged to have received N11 million naira from an Emir to compromise the outcome of their investigation.
Shinkafi who was the immediate past gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2019 general election noted that some desperate politicians who want to demonstrate their enmity for the state are fully behind the circulation of the fake audio.
He noted that his committee which is an ad-hoc one was inaugurated with a time frame adding that, the committee has executed it’s assignment excellently in line with the terms of reference saying, it is the prerogative of the Governor to either implement or reject the recommendations of the committee.
He noted that to the best of his knowledge if not because of the Covid-19 pandemic the Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate those indicted by the committee would have been inaugurated adding that, when the commission is inaugurated, people of Zamfara will understand who the real enemies of Zamfara are.
He pointed out that “Hon Aminu Sani Jaji, Bashir Adamu Imad, Malan Ibrahim Wakkalla were not members of the Zamfara State committee for finding lasting solution to armed banditry and that there is no moral justification for anybody to have claimed that they had resigned their membership of the committee as a result of none implementation of the committee’s reports.
He gave the names of the committee members inaugurated by the Governor for the member of the public to know true membership of the committee which had former Inspector-General Of Police M.D Abubakar as Chairman to include Alhaji Dr. Sani Abdulahi Shinkafi (Wamban Shinkafi) Hon Justice Nasiru. U Gumi( Rtd) Sen Saidu Muhammad Dansadau, CP Mamman Anka (Rtd) Engr Mamuda Maradun, Alhaji Bawa Ibrahim, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu (Secretary) Bar Aliyu Abdulahi Gusau (Assistant Secretary) DIG Mamman I. Tsafe (Co-opted Member) DSP A. Hardo (Co-Opted Member).
He alleged that, former Chairman of the House Committee on Security and Intelligence Aminu Sani Jaji is the sole brain behind the circulation of the fake audio clip noting that, everyone in Zamfara knows that Jaji is a desperate politician who wants to climb to power by all means without minding the history of his political career as someone who started his politics as a sole administrator and now wants to transform suddenly to the Governor of Zamfara.
He also alleged that, one Abu Dantabawa is accused of being part of this deadly mission of spreading the leaked fake audio for the attainment of the political interest best known to them.
He said the intention of the sponsors of the audio clip was to bring Zamfara back to the olden days of darkness when kidnapping, abduction and killings were the order of the day.
He faulted the same Aminu Jaji for failing to act and make case for Zamfara state while he was the Chairman of the House Committee on Security and intelligence noting “but now that he wants to become Governor by all means he wants to ignite tension in the state saying, the security personnel especially the CP should not allow an act of lawlessness allegedly perpetrated by Jaji and his political allies to take over the state.
Shinkafi further stated that “it is surprising that, in the said clip an allegation was made against the former IGP that an Emir bribed him with N11 million naira to compromise the outcome of their investigation adding that the allegation is not only laughable but childish which shall be investigated by the government.
He also described as laughable the allegation that, a PDP chieftain in Zamfara was caught with arms in his personal residence saying every body in Zamfara knows who the sponsors of the armed bandits were.
Wambai added that it was on record that one former member of the state House of assembly who was a card carrying member of the APC was caught red handed with arms and ammunitions in his residence and the former Governor Yari was silent on the matter.
He said Governor Matawalle has done well in restoring peace when compared to the old situation noting that everyone knows that security has improved significantly.
“He alleged that in Shinkafi alone, where he comes from, 280 million naira was paid in eight years as ransom, 1,300 people were killed, 6,500 children were rendered orphans pointing out that, if Matawalle can restore relative peace within one year, there is no reason why he should allow some heartless politicians to drag Zamfara State back”.
“He said the Governor has done perfectly well in moving Zamfara forward. Adding that from education, health and other critical areas of human development, his party, APGA will remain supportive of the Matawalle led government if he continues the way he is going”.
He called on the DG SSS to immediately withdraw the SSS attached to Jaji considering the manner in which he is using them to harass and intimidate people suggesting that instead, Jaji should apply to the IGP for security protection.
Hon Sani Jaji as a former member of the House Of Representatives is not constitutionally empowered to be moving around with a truckload Of DSS Personnel.
There are three former Governors Of Zamfara State, and by virtue of their former offices as former Executive Governors namely His Excellency Mallam Yahaya Abdulkareem, he has no truckload Of DSS operatives in his house or as escort, Senator Ahmed Rufai Sani, Alhaji Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi are all former Governors and they don’t have truckloads Of DSS Personnel in their houses or as escorts.
There are several serving and former Senators and Members of the House Of Representatives in Zamfara State and none of them has a truckload Of DSS Personnel attached to him as escort.
Hon Sani Jaji is always using the DSS Personnel attached to him as a tool of blackmail and intimidation and is always bragging that nobody can do anything about it.
We demand the immediate withdrawal of the DSS Personnel attached to Hon. Sani Jaji as he is not entitled such retinue Of security men.
He called on Zamfara CP to order for an immediate investigation of Almansoor, the Director, New Media to the immediate past Governor of Zamfara for committing cyber crimes and circulating fake news.
Wamban Shinkafi further called on the IGP, DG SSS, Chief of Army Staff to invite Aminu Sani Jaji, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala and Bashir Adamu IMAD for questioning since their names featured in the audio.
He also called on Governor Matawalle and the CP to order for the immediate investigation and prosecution of those behind the new political revelation before they drag Zamfara to the mud.
