Eviction: Group appeals to government, spirited individuals to reach out to Jos orphanage

A non-governmental organisation, Centre for Nutrition and Education of Child Oriented Foundation (CNECOF) International
has appealed to spirited individuals and organisations to come to the aid of Kids with Vision Foundation Orphanage Home which has been served quit notice from the 16 years facility they have been operating from.

The Executive Director and Founder of CNECOF International, Pastor El-Polycarp Yusuf Degri made the appeal while presenting food itemy/detergents to the management of the home and kids in Jos the Plateau State.

Degri who is an orphan himself, said the organisation is based in Gombe State with three Centres in Gombe, nut decided to expand it’s operations to other State of the Federation beginning from Jos Plateau State.

He also disclosed that CNECOF has a school
with over 600 children in Gombe, catering for displaced children and orphans.

“We want to appeal to government, spirited individuals, local and international organisations to give attention to out of school children which if not done will be a potential danger to the country in the future”, he admonished.

He maintained that CNECOF’s target is to ensure that vulnerable children are given the opportunity to be responsible citizens.

“UNICEF has revealed that there over 10 million out of school children in Nigeria, sadly the bulk of them are from the northern part of the country.

“That is why we have to stand up and face that challenge squarely, if we don’t, these out of school children will be a security threat in our communities and nation as a whole”, he explained.

Responding, the Director/Founder of the Kids with Vision Foundation Orphanage Home, Mrs. Grace Solomon expressed gratitude for the gesture by CNECOF International.

“Honestly, this visit has made a big mark in the lives of these children and the home, because as I speak to you, we have been given one month notice to vacate out of this facility that we have been renting for 16 years.

Our correspondent reports that the Home whixh is located behind St. Finbarr’s Catholic Church Rayfield in Jos the State capital, has 70 orphans.

Items donated by the organisation during the visit consist of “Bags of rice, bag of salt, cartoons of indomies, Vaseline, packs of soft drinks, among others.
