A front line Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governoship Aaspirant, Dr. Ifedi Okwenna, has urged stakeholders to eschew selfish actions and “it must be me or nobody attitude” to ensure victory for the party in the 2021 governorship election in the state.
Dr. Okwenna a former Commissioner for Environment, Mineral Resources, Science and Technology in the Peter Obi-led asministration in the state, during a consultation with PDP stakeholders and executives in Anambra West Local Government Area, advised the party members to avoid engaging in selfish pursuits.
According to him, “Anambra is bleeding and it is only the PDP that can rescue it. We can’t afford to play politics with this else we allow our state to completely collapse. We should all arise and take over Anambra state.
“This is our best opportunity, but to succeed, we must all be united and eschew selflessness. Our leaders must do the right things to ensure cohesion which will give us victory. Am sure if we do the right things, Ndi Anambra will give us their votes”.
While telling them of his intention to run for the office of the governor, Okwenna, told the party leaders that he is well prepared for the contest and will give Anambra State their best governance if elected into office in next year’s election.
Receiving him and his entourage, the Chairman of PDP in the LGA, Hon. Ozoekwe Samuel along with his executives and stakeholders, appreciated him on his aspiration.
He said that the party in the area is intact and ready to mobilize to elect a PDP governor for the state.
He assured Dr. Okwenna of their support and prayed for his success in the aspiration.
The Woman Leader, Mrs. Anigbogu Regina, pledged loyalty and support for Dr. Okwenna’s aspirations and urged him to always remember women in all his programmes.
