New Islamic Year: Ganduje Urges Muslims To Pray For Peace, Declares Thursday Public Holiday

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the New Islamic Year, urging them to pray for peace and prosperity in the state and country, as he declared Thursday Public Holiday.

According to a Statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, and made available to journalists on Wednesday, “the State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has urged Muslims in the state to use the occasion for sober reflection and to offer prayers for continued peace, prosperity and general development of the state.

“While praying for Allah’s intervention over the current economic hardship being experienced by the people and the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic as well as a new year full of happiness and prosperity, he called on the citizenry to always fear Allah in all their dealings, be tolerant and live peacefully with one another as always preached by Islam.

“Governor Ganduje give assurance of his administration’s commitment to the improvement of their wellbeing and general development of Kano state.”
