The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) says it has adjusted the date for this year’s National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 students seeking admission to technical colleges.
The exam body said it has brought forward the date from 3 October to 5 September to enable candidates who will be concluding the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on Friday 4th September, 2020 to conveniently sit for the common entrance a day after.
A statement signed by the Registrar of NABTEB, Prof. Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe and made available to newsmen in Abuja, said with the development, there would not be any need for affected candidates to go back to school on 3 October for another examination.
The NABTEB boss also disclosed that the deadline for registration of candidates for National Business Certificate (NBC)/ National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations has been extended to September 4, 2020 to accommodate requests from states that have not been able to complete registration of their students due to exigencies arising from COVID-19 lockdown.
She commended the Federal Ministry of Education, states education ministries and other stakeholders, for excellent planning and a smooth resumption of school and examinations for exit classes.
The registrar also reminded candidates that the NBC/NTC would still commence on 21 September and end on 15 October, 2020 as earlier announced by the Federal Ministry of Education.
