PDP labels Buhari’s administration a colossal failure

By Myke Uzendu

The National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has described the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as a colossal failure, and asked him to stop his false performance propaganda and face governance.

The PDP National Chairman made the declaration on Wednesday while addressing journalists, at the party Legacy office in Maitama Abuja at the end of a meeting of party stakeholders with members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

Secondus who made reference to President Muhammadu Buhari remarks on Tuesday, at the closing ceremony of the one year Ministerial review retreat, where he had charged all government appointees to “blow our trumpet, We have done well.”
Secondus in reaction said that the one year score card of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is a “colossal failure”.

Substantiating his position, Secondus said, “they made several promises. Including reducing the pump price of fuel, allowing the refineries to work, they made a firmed commitment and promise to the people. They also promised that Naira will be equal to one dollar.

“They made all kinds of promises including creating employment for all our youths and that power problem will be a thing of the past within six months. If I have to go on and on, you are all aware of all the promises they have made. I want to ask Nigerians whether they have fulfilled their promises or not? It is a colossal failure. Every responsible government must be very careful in making promises.
“They made these promises in 2015 when a bag of rice was 8,000 naira. Today, a bag of rice is 35,000 naira. Are we better off? Have they improved on the economy? The situation in Nigeria is pathetic, it has worsened. Our people are going through pain, hardships and sorrow. And this government is clueless”, he added.

The PDP boss said that the ruling government is bereft of ideas.

He said that the position of the party is the position of ordinary Nigerians. He said that the party is speaking for the silent majority.

“The government must stop propaganda, and face governance. And if they continue this way, they will see the anger of the people” Secondus said.

On the issue of corruption, the PDP Chairman lamented that rather than providing palliative, the government increased the pump price and electricity tariff.
