A socio political pressure group in Enugu state known as Enugu West Assembly has accused the former Senate President,Chief Ken Nnamani of trying to truncate the zoning principle of sharing political positions in the party hierachy in the state by trying to enforce somebody from Enugu North senatorial district, against people from Enugu West district
In a statement made available to The AUTHORITY, which was signed by the group’s President and Secretary Engr. Sunday Ilo and Dr Akachukwu Geoffrey, they stated that, a group of Party members from Enugu North Senatorial Zone are seriously working against the interest of the party by claiming that a consensus Candidate from their zone by name, Chief Fidel Ayogu has been endorsed by Sen. Ken Nnamani. They Stated that the said candidate is a known specialist in failure, who has failed as a gubernatorial, ambassador to Gambia, House Of Representatives candidate, and commissioner, that has zero political value in the state as well as amongst the Party members. The group says that the decision of the highest organ of the Party in the State should be maintained and urged the people involved, to put more efforts in filling the positions zoned to them rather than using such an antiquated stratagem to tarnish the image of disguished Senator Ken Nnamani. They also enjoined all the leaders of the Party to respect the zoning arrangement and allow Enugu West to Produce the next State Chairman and also the Party members to elect their choice candidates in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s “Bottom-Up” approach. The statement read in parts,"The Leadership of Enugu West People’s Assembly frowns at the move by some mischievous elements in the All Progressives Congress APC Enugu State who are from Enugu North Senatorial Zone planing to truncate the zoning arrangement approved by the State Caretaker Executive Committee (SCEC) of the Party, that zoned the State Chairmanship position to Enugu West Senatorial Zone". "We are saddened that these elements have resorted to peddling preposterous averments that, a consensus Candidate by Name, Chief Hon Fidel Ayougu has been endorsed to lead the Party in the State". "The said consensus Candidate is a known specialist in failure, who has failed as a gubernatorial candidate, failed as an ambassador to Gambia, failed as a commissioner, House Of Reps candidate amongst others" "We still wonder how people can be so disdainful to an extent of having an incurable hatred for the truth and are using the name of our renowned Leader, Strong Supporter of Buhari and believer of Party leadership, Distinguished Senator Ken Nnamani to push their selfish agenda". "Is not a slap on the Party that such an honorable name would used to push such an ungodly agenda with an unsalable character". "President Muhammadu Buhari has given a directive that the Party should start from bottom up and not Otherwise and such an applaudable statement should be maintained in Enugu State, because Sen Ken Nnamani can never go against Buhari". "The Party is supreme and one and should also be wary of some PDP members in disguise amongst them as there is no signs Yet that, Chief Fidel Ayogu is an APC member in the State talk more of using him to subdue our existing peace as well as portraying our Leader Senator Ken Nnamani as a lover of troubles and disunity". "We call on the drivers of these Movements to retrace their steps and focus on filling the positions zoned to them ahead of the Party’ Congresses as such action if it continues, could lead to an unending disharmony in the Party"..
