Akwa Ibom Amalgamated Cooperative elect Unyime as Board President

Mr. Unyime Robinson has been elected President of the Board of Directors of Akwa Ibom Amalgamated Cooperative Association Limited.

He was elected by delegates at the First Annual General Meeting of the Cooperative in Uyo.
Delegates came from Primary and Secondary Societies across the three (3) Cooperative Zones of Akwa Ibom State.


The meeting and election was in exercise of the functions conveyed by the Bye-Laws of Akwa Ibom Amalgamated Cooperative Association (AKACOOPA) Limited to wit; “To elect officers and members for the Board of Directors for the ensuring year”. 


Accordingly, the delegates unanimously voted to elect Mr. Unyime Robinson as the president of the Board of Directors of the Association. 


A press release by the President said that delegates further resolved that Mr Robinson convene the next Annual General Meeting of Akwa Ibom Amalgamated Cooperative Association (AKACOOPA) Limited for the purpose of electing other members of the Board of Directors as stipulated by the Bye-Laws and appointment and presentation of Secretary/Manager in line with the provisions of the Bye-Law.


He said that “Delegates also thanked His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for peaceful business environment and prudent management of the state’s resources.


“The highlights of the meeting was the sensitization and documentation of subscribers of National Social Housing Program (NSHP) by the Cooperative Mortgage Bank (CMB) facilitated by Akwa Ibom Amalgamated Cooperative Association (AKACOOPA) Limited and the unveiling of the Association Office by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Adede Isidore Archibong. 


“The Akwa Ibom Amalgamated Cooperative Association (AKACOOPA) Limited is an apex Cooperative Association registered by the Akwa Ibom State Government for the purpose of Promoting Sustainable Business Synergy among members while addressing resources and ideas for long term Economic Growth and Development in Akwa Ibom State.”
