PG,Ohanaeze Ndigbo lauds Women and Youth wing elections

The President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide,Amvassador Prof.George Obiozor has congratulated the newly elected national leaders of the Women and Youth wings of the organization,while lauding the conduct of the election as very peaceful.


The elections which were conducted on Thursday and Friday,,August 4  and 5,at the national secretariat of Ohanaeze Ndigbo,located at No 7 Park avenue,GRA Enugu produced Mr Damian Okafor from Ebonyi state, as the new national Youth leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo world wide.


Hon Mrs Daniel Rita from Delta state emerged as the new national women nleader  of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide.
In a press statement made available to news men in Enugu  by the National Publicity Secretary,Chief Alex Ogbonnia,Prof Obiozor described the elections as timely,stating that  as very important arms of the Apex Igbo Organization, the new leadership of the Women and Youth wings will add impetus to the efforts and serious contributions towards providing solutions to the various critical problems facing the nation in general and Igboland in particular.


He urged the newly elected officer to imbibe the fear of God in the discharge of their duties.


Among iother National Youth leaders elected are Mr Franklin Onwuasonya from Imo state as  National Deputy Youth Leader,Dike Chukwubia from Abia state as Asst. National Youth Leader,IOsita Izalagba Kingsley from Anmabra state and Ogbonnia Wencelaus from Enugu state,were also elected as  Asst. National Youth Leaders.


The position of National Secretary was won by  Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu fromAnambra state. He wil be assisted by   Mbadugha Emmanuel from Imo state.


It was observed that the various positions were contested by aspirants from a particular state under the rotation priciple embeded in Ohanaeze Ndigbo constitution.


The delegates who partucipatednin the election were drawn from Seven Igbo speakingbtribes in Nigeria namely Abia state,Anambra, Delta, Ebony ,iEnugu,Imo and Rivers states.
