Forensic audit report: GPMI hails Akpabio, urges speedy action

Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio have been commended for efforts to reform the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for effective performance especially with the recent forensic audit.

The commendation was handed out by an anti- corruption crusader, Global Peace Movement International UK.

The group, in a statement on Sunday hailed the Minister for his proactive efforts at curbing corruption in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

In the statement signed by the President General, Dr Mike Uyi, the group pledged its allegiance to Akpabio, describing him as a transparent leader whose quest to stop corruption had brought him undue criticism.

“It is our believe that the Minister and the Federal Government as a matter of urgency will review the final audit exercise report, which we are very sure will be a turning point for the NDDC and development of the Niger Delta”.

According to the statement, it is a great plus for the Minister, Sen. Goodwill Akpabio for this exercise that will ensure the total emancipation of the Niger Delta region from the hands of the few who have been milking the region dry for years.

Uyi also warn some persons from the region who are bent on character assassination of Sen. Akpabio, a patriotic Nigerian whose only agenda is to see the progress and upliftment of his people and Nigeria.
