Community Policing: CP Dikko Partners With Consumer Protection Council, Independent Broadcasters

Kano state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, has promised to partner with Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KSCPC) and the Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) towards ensuring security of lives and property through community policing initiatives.


The police boss gave the promise while receiving the Managing Director of KSCPC, General Idris Bello Dambazau (Rtd) and Kano state chairman of FIBAN, Comrade Kehinde Abdulazeez, in his office.

 He  appreciated the visitors for finding time to come to the command and commended them for partnering with the police to ensure peace and order  in  Kano state. 


According to him, “having providing security coverage and intervention in the KSCPC, I have discovered that there is a cordial working relationship between the Police and KSCPC in Kano State.


“I appreciate your understanding and cooperation. We will continue to partner with you both formally and informally for a more secured Kano State. 


“The Police are in Kano for the masses, and therefore, we will continue to serve you to the best we can.

“I was briefed by my predecessor about your commitment and continued support and cooperation; MD KSCPC tells CP Kano.”
 However, FIBAN chairman also used the opportunity to announce delivery of free services to Kano State Police Command by the association.


He stated that, the Association visited the Command to appreciate the Commissioner of Police  for a job well done in securing Kano State and seek for continues support and cooperation to move the State to the promise land. 
He further stated that, “being a citizen of Nigeria residing in Kano, he is aware that Kano State Government is well concern about the issue of security and welfare of the people of the State. 


“The association will deliver free service for the Kano State Police Command, and will do everything possible to cooperate with the Police in disseminating information for peace to rein in the State and Nigeria at large.”


  In his remark on the purpose of the visit, the newly appointed Managing Director, KSCPC, General  Dambazau (Rtd) , stated that, “because of the synergy of work under my leadership, the KSCPC pay this courtesy visit to strengthen the cordial relationship that have been in existence with the Police as a critical stakeholder.” 


The Managing Director further stated that, “since the time of my handing over with my predecessor, he informed me about your commitment, cooperation and support to the KSCPC  through security coverage and guidance. We need more Police intervention in our operation. Everybody that in Kano must appreciate the efforts of the Police.”

He commended the Command for securing the State and for public enlightenment and sensitization which led  to the peace being enjoyed in Kano State.


 He also Commended the CP for maximum cooperation and support enjoyed by the KSCPC in  achieving food security.
