Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja holds annual assembly, canvasses for peace

The Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja has concluded plans to hold its Annual General Assembly (AGA) which discussions will be focused on justice and peace across the country.


Rev. Fr. Patrick Alumuku, Director of Communications Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja in a statement on Wednesday, said the annual assembly is slated for 24th & 25th September, 2021 with the opening Mass at Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Pro- Cathedral, Garki in Abuja.


The statement explained that the  assembly which is convoked by His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius Ayau Kaigama and the Auxillary Bishop, Most Rev. Dr. Anselm Umoren, MSP,  will be attended by priests, religious and lay faithful, organizations and societies as well as sodalities and representatives of government.


It said the theme of this year’s General Assembly is “Ministerial and Pastoral Collaboration” and it will feature deliberations on New Evangelism, Ecumenism, Inter-religious Dialogue, Justice and Peace, Communications, Liturgy, Health, Family and Youth Development.


According to the statement, the General Assembly ends on the 25th September 2021 with closing Mass and issuance of communique.
