Be humble, seek God, Dr Akhabhoa charges staff

Medical Director/CEO of Isolo General Hospital, Dr Godwin Akhabhoa has urged the staff of the hospital to demonstrate humility and seek God.

Dr Akhabhoa gave the charge while exhorting the staff during a prayer session held to commit the activities of the hospital for the year to God’s hand.

The Medical Director informed the staff that there was nothing anyone could achieve without God. He also said that there was nothing achieved by anyone that had not been achieved by some other people before. 

He asked them to exhibit good interpersonal disposition and live lives that glorify God, adding that people should see God in the lives they live. He encouraged them to show love to one another. He prayed for the staff, asking God to meet them at the points of their needs.

The Isolo General Hospital has welcomed new set of 26 House Officers into the hospital.

Speaking at a brief ceremony organized to welcome them, the Managing Director/CEO of the hospital, Dr Godwin Akhabhoa informed them that their posting to the hospital was a fulfilment of his desire to solve the problem of Medical students having problem of where to do housemanship after graduation.

He said it took the hospital a lot of time and resources to get the accreditation, while acknowledging the immense support of the Lagos State government, Ministry of Health and Health Service Commission for making it possible.

Dr Akhabhoa charged the House Officers to be prepared to learn from the practicing Doctors so they could be better at the end of the programme, adding that whatever they learn could be useful when they go for the National Youth Service.

Thereafter different heads of departments : Dr Mohammed Shuiab, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Surgery; Dr Chris Onanu, Head of Hematology: Mrs Omolara Eniayewun, Head of Laboratory Services; Dr Sikirat Akinremi, Head of Opthalmology; Mrs Oyindamola Ola-Dawodu, Head of Admin & HR; Dr Tolulope Olatunji, Director Service Charter; Dr Soffiyah Miftah, Head of Public Health; Mr Sogunro Peter, Internal Auditor; and Mr Olalekan Odutola, Head of Accounts, among other things, all took turns to brief the House Officers on what their departments do.

There was cutting of cake which was moderated by the Director Nursing Services, Azeez Idowu Arolake

Speaking on behalf of the House Officers, their leader,  Balogun Oluwadara thanked the Management and staff of the hospital for the honour of welcoming them to the hospital which he said they were not expecting. He said they were happy to have been posted to the hospital and promised that they would be dedicated to their duty.
