Accident Investigation Bureau Nigeria (AIB-N) has reiterated itscommitment to maintain partnership and institutional collaboration with the Nigerian Airforce (NAF) in line with its drive to sustain cooperation with relevant authorities for a safer airspace in the country.
The Commissioner/Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau, Engr. AkinOlateru, made the pledge while receiving the newly appointed Abuja Military Airport Commandant, Group Capt. B. A. Usman, Wednesday at theBureau’s Head Office in Abuja.
Olateru assured the NAF of the Bureau’s full support and cooperation in ensuring a safer airspace in Nigeria.
He disclosed that AIB-N, as a government agency, had a strongrelationship with the NAF, which was sealed with a pact between thetwo government establishments.
“AIB-N cannot do it alone. A strong collaboration must exist amongrelevant agencies in order to ensure the continuous safety of theNigerian air space,” he said.
While soliciting for the Bureau’s continued support, Usman disclosed that histeam is seeking ways to consolidate the existing synergy between the agencies to ensure maximum safety and security within and outside the airports environment.
He further urged the Bureau not to hesitate to call NAF in times ofdistress, assuring the AiB-N of a rapid response at all times.
