Abia Guber: Youth group drums support for Chijioke Okoro

A political pressure group in Abia State known as Abia Youths Awake Group has called on Amb. Chijioke Okoro to join the 2023 governorship race in Abia State.


The group went further to sponsor a governorship poster of the Director General of Importers Association of Nigeria Special Taskforce (IMAN) which they pasted in strategic position in the state.


Speaking with journalists on their preference for Amb. Okoro the  spokesman of the group, Mr. Mike Igwe, said their support was born out of their determination “to install a good leader that would wipe the tears of people of Abia that have over the years suffered from under development, pooverty, lack of good leadership vision, youth unemployment, educational setback poor infratructural development among others”. 


Mr. Igwe who is also an activist said that the people of the state can no longer afford to allow the state to be taken over by selfish politicians  whose desire is to enrich their pockets while the people will be waloping in  suffering and poverty. He described Ambassador Okoro as “a man of humility, hardworking, philontropist, God fearing    person who is eager to reposition the fortunes of the state for the better, adding that with his youthful age, he will be in a better position to understand what the Abia people wants”. 


The group regretted that both the present and past leaders in the state have dragged the state back wards.Mr. Igwe urged the people of Abia State to be wise and  join his group in drumming for the success of Ambassador Okoro in the 2023 governorship race in the state as they have commenced the mobilization of the people in support of the project.


When contacted, Ambassador Okoro welcome the idea describing himself as a square peg in a square hole but disclosed that he is consulting.


He pointed out that he would contest on the political platform of All Progressives Congress APC as soon as he concludes consultation.


Ambassador John Chijioke Okoro, a political scientist, was born in Ugwuavo Village Arochukwu, Arochukwu Local Government Area in Abia State.
